Es un pueblo tranquilo rodeado de viñedos y bodegas. Aquí se cultiva el Torrontés, un vino blanco, seco y afrutado muy de moda en toda Argentina. También es muy famoso por su artesanía; las mantas son preciosas.
Este fin de semana se celebran las "500 Millas de Salta", una carrera de coches antiguos.
